Don't let e liquid packaging be designed to mislead children

According to USA Today, federal regulators warned 13 e liquid manufacturers and distributors on Tuesday that they would immediately replace their packaging because some children mistakenly used these nicotine e-liquids as beverages, causing poisoning.

The e liquid, which was ordered by the FDA to replace the package, looks just like the packaging of juice, candy or biscuits, not only in bright colors, but also in cartoons.

According to the National Toxicology Data System, between January 2012 and April 2017, more than 8,200 children under the age of 6 were exposed to e-cigarettes and nicotine E liquid.

Children exposed to liquid nicotine in a small amount of e-cigarette can cause cardiac arrest, seizures, coma and respiratory failure, and even death.

Children should not use any tobacco products, and tobacco products should not be harmed by any marketing. Especially through these misleading packaging, they think that this is something that can be eaten or can be drunk.FDA Director Scott Gottlieb Said, "Look at these one-to-one comparisons is shocking."

The agency said that the target products for the rectification include One Mad Hit Juice Box, which is similar to children's apple juice, "Vape Heads Sour Smurf Sauce", similar to War Heads candy, "V'Nilla biscuits with milk" The packaging is similar to the cookies of the Nilla Wafer and Golden Oreo brands. There is also Whipd Strawberry, which looks like Reddi-wip cream, and Twirly Pop, which is not only similar to the popular unicorn lollipop, but also comes with the lollipop.

Maureen K. Ohlhausen, Acting Chairman of the US Federal Trade Commission, said, "Nicotine is very toxic. These marketing methods expose children to the risk of nicotine poisoning and must not be tolerated."

Companies that sell these products have a responsibility to ensure that they do not harm children or attract young people,Gottlieb said. He vowed to continue to crack down on the illegal sale of tobacco products to young people and to take action on businesses that use this astounding way to sell products.
